Also wow, same teasing etc back. It was nice to meet with Roshin and family, met with Annie, Griz, Venki too.Griz tried to call Usha Nair and Venki called Prem while they visited me at my home, looks like Usha Nair was not home..Thank you all for finding the time to visit me at my home.I doubt if i would have had the time to meet with you all .Sorry, Gladi ,i could not catch up with u.Venki gave me Persis No.. As Rosh said Boy ..oh Boy!-venki has the full political look-OF Course he has the talents and capability also for the political future.I took some photo.. i will try and load it one of these days.Hey, why did u stop with Venki's political rise. I told him.. soon he may be in such high position that this maybe our last time we will get some free time with him. He seems to be busy in his work, studies, family life, political life.
Annie is same as ever, Griz is put some wgt, Rosh looked same too. Annie and Griz have quite a lot of travel right now in their hands. Hopefully God and friends or some one would be able to get them the necessary transfer. So they can be close to family.

Viva Venky!

Prem tells me that Venky is one of the state leaders of the Paari Narpani Mantram which will become a political party in Jan 2010. And that nowadays he speaks in one meeting in a week. A newsitem about him appeared in the Tamilan Express, a local daily, a few days back.
Even when I saw him a few months back, he looked like a pakka politician - dressed in khadi white and driving a Scorpio, which is so popular with the Tamil political gentry.
It is good to have a politician in our midst :)

Our condolences

Rosh said she got a call from Prem. It is sad to hear his 3-year-old son passed away in April.
If any of you are in touch with him, please convey our heartfelt sadness, our prayers for strength for him and his family and friends.
God be with each and everyone of you.
Got mail from venki...
"yes really it was a sad news. i was very upset . but what to do we have to some time accept the reality.
he is recovering from the shock. the boy had many complications. prem had given all possible medication but nothing worked.
now he is ok.
there is a good news also parellely that his wife became a civil judge just days before the boy's death. the family had taken that as a gift of that boy.
family had come down to chennai on a day's visit to meet a senior judge in chennai and they had come to my place . they are ok now. any way let us hope for better."

Congrats on the good note. Thanks venki.
Prem. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Zooming past

A demonstration in support of LTTE chief Prabakaran in Chennai last week... They were actually more policemen than demonstrators as trouble was expected. Our office was a fortress too and we had the para military apart from the police guarding our premises. But nothing untoward happened. It did bring traffic to a standstill for almost an hour. (Not the best of pictures, since it was taken on my mobile quickly... I didnt want the police arresting me :)

Here in Chennai, things have been slightly more interesting than usual of late. Pre-election campaigns, election results, post-election wrangling for ministerial berths by the Chief Minister, 'death' of Tiger chief Prabakaran (though some still believe it is not him) and of course the IPL tournament. Though Chennai Super Kings didnt see the light of the final, we tried to be happy that another South Indian team won the trophy.

The zoozoos caught our imagination more than the cricketers. They lit up our otherwise mundane lives for a while.

And now the IPL is over, the katthri heat is supposedly over (but the sun still shines mercilessly on the city) and schools are about to reopen.
