Olden Goldies

We did a lot of trekking during our Kodai trip despite the drizzle. In fact those long walks were one of our favorite memories of that college excursion. Here walks three beauties escorted by two black cats on either side...
Our MA class (well, most of us) during break hour. Here's Rajeev, Murali, Thimmarayan, Shoba Paul, Rosh, Annie, Usha, Princy, Kavita, Maha, Grace (almost lost inthe darkness of the picture), Ghosh, Amos, Pichandi, Shankar and Persis. Think it was Onam day, judging from the Kerala saris of the Malloo girls. At the cottage in Kodai early morning, shivering and half awake - Annie, Maha, Usha, Miller, Persis and Venky.
Boating in the Kodai lake, a must for all tourists.
Trekking up to Suicide point, another must for tourists. Were the girls chewing lollipops or sugar candy?
The road in front of Selaiyur hall, MCC. Sunita in her hey days as a tall, dusky, Shobana look-alike beauty, with her dear friend Usha Nair. Probably in I MA.

Happy Valentine's day

Google comes up with very interesting graphics on each occasion of importance to the neo-world.  Now Valentine's day has become so ingrained in our culture (thanks to card companies and the TV and the internet and what not) that a whiff of that love touches everyone on the street, not just inside colleges (and schools :) )
Wishing each of you and your partners a happy, fun-filled day. And three cheers to our college lovebirds Miller and Grizilda & Maha & Prof Arul.

Happy birthday, Usha

Many happy returns of the day. I hope you will remember to parcel by First Flight a piece each of the cake to certain recipients in Canada, Califorinia, Dubai, and some poor hungry souls in India (in Chennai and Bangalore).
Usha, like me, finds February an important month in her life - apart from her birthday, there is her mom's birthday, her wedding anniversary and the Valentine's day of course. For me, there is my mom's and son's birthdays, my engagement anniversary and my grandpa's death anniversary to remember.
Once again, wishing all the best to someone who is 2 days older to me ;)

Sari talk

Every year for Pongal, our company gives the womenfolk a sari each and the men 2 dhotis. The men complain their dhotis dont cost half as much as our saris. ::))

This year we got Kora silk and this is the one I chose. I usually give them away to my 2 moms but this year I plan to keep it.
Next in line is a watch for completing over 10 years at the job.

p.s. I am posting this for the women folk in the blog group, especially Usha who likes to see what I have got.

Sreesanth the dancer

Somebody sent this to me. Very interesting especially if u like dance/cricket.
How many of u saw Shahrukh rise from TV serial "FAUJI". I used to watch the show just to see him, and was surprised to see my cousins, who never watch anything other than english shows, watching this Hindi serial.
Shah Rukh Khan made it big. Congrats to him. He still seems to be a crowd puller. One year back, my second child happened to see his movie. Although she did not understand a thing, she who can't be easily impressed, was impressed. Now recognises him in tv ads.
Heard about the malayali cricket player through Asianet serial - where they talk about famous personality & their antics - about his swearing on the play ground.
Great!! See what he has to say to SRK about it. Enjoy the dance.
God bless them in their careers.... Usha

Nano Neeyo?

Wonder if all of you heard about the 1 lakh car from the Tata stable? Last year an auto expert was telling us that the 1 lac car would probably look like an auto and would have curtains instead of doors!! But here is a dashing looking car that is going to cause major traffic congestions and pollution on the roads. I wouldnt mind booking one for myself.

Updates: Murali has gone to Australia for 2 weeks to witness his brother receiving an award. BTW, he was telling me that the class blog was looking like a conversation between me and Usha! No one else is contributing anything. Miller, Maha - do you hear?
