Today India celebrates another Gandhi Jayanti. Or do we celebrate? For most of us, it is just another occasion for a holiday. We have forgotten the contributions, sufferings and struggles of this great man and his associates to win the country's freedom. At the most, schools in India remember to teach children that he is the Father of the Nation.
Let us, after reading this post, observe a moment of silence, in prayer, for this great humanitarian and the country he fought to create. Let us hope that India becomes as prosperous and its people as aware and civic conscious as the citizens of the countries some of you are now residing in.
Long live Gandhiji. Long live India.
