Roshin's comment on snow made me think of our first snow in SK. It was October when it snowed and we were living in a basement suite. When we woke up and saw snow we wanted to go out and see it. So here we were in our pyjamas and flip-flops leaving our building to check out snow for the first time in our lives.
We got out of the first door of our building and then the second and saw the snow. It was a bit cold and we wanted to go back in. But alas! in all our excitement we had forgotten the keys. It was a condominium and you had to have your keys to get into the building and then into your apartment.
We stood there and thought about it and realized no one was going to go in or out of the building at this time (as it was a working day and it was around 10 a.m.). Our landlady worked a block away from our building at a grocery store. So my poor hubby went to the store in his flip-flops and pyjamas to get the keys from her. She had quite a laugh.
I am sure people watching him on the streets thought - Wierd immigrants!

:) thanks for that anecdote, maha. I must venture to kashmir at least to see some snow some day.
This just brought back memories of my experience with snow, Oh! how excited Kirthi and I was. when we were in Boston Behind our apartment we had a nice slope and so we use to sledge down the slope. That was lot of fun :) But I still don't miss it, if i have see snow all I have to do is go to Big Bear mountain which is a few hrs drive from here to play in the snow....

Isn't there a snow place in Purashaivakkam or somewhere - a building with snow where people can visit. My sister went there to see snow. I can't remember the exact place though.
