Hello Everyone,
Its been a while since I visited our blog. I have been pretty busy this second half of 2010. I took a new role with Nokia as HR Specialist for Americas and have been in transition from my old role to new one, Training and travelling for the same. I will be taking my consultancy experiance from site level to reagional level, so in the new role, I will provide HR consultancy to all our remote sites in Americas ( US, Canada and Latin America) and focusing on change management since we are going through a change in the mobile industry. I am very excited about my new challenge. It is lot of work and learning the local processes of 3 regions is not easy, but I am very excited about my new job. Jay and I have also embarked on a new project to Build a new home in my ancestral property in Kerala. It will be a unique experience to oversee everything remotely with my parents' help and interesting to see how this project will shape up!!!
I am taking a well deserved time off this weekend to kick up my feet and relax and have some quiet moments with my family to usher in the 2011.
I hope you all are doing the same. It is wonderful to see Prem's Christmas wish on the blog. Maha I feel your pain regarding the learning curve, I seemed to have got myself in the same boat as well. Although it is tough at times I am sure you are enjoying it as well....
Roshin, Its been a while since I visited your blog about your kids, I hope your little lambs are doing well and creating opportunities to make you smile. Miss your Chennai musings. I get my updates on our beloved Chennai from you. Usha, I am sure you are busy with your family as well. when everybody gets too busy cought up in their own world; you always remind us to take time to reach out to say hello to dear friends. You hold us all together and keep the blog alive. keep it up! We need a champion amongst us always:)
Amos, hope you are having a great time at your work and hope Grizly and kids are doing well as well. Its been a while since I saw postings of your wise and thought provoking Phrases. Do keep posting them, it is very refreshing to read and take time to ponder on them between our busy schedules. Venky must be busy with his political career. Not sure what Annie is up to???
Rajiv, our dear professor in Thailand, hope you are having a geat time with your family.
And all those silent readers of the blog, hope you all are doing well as well...
It still amazes me to see how we have all become mothers, fathers, family providers, house wives, Career Oriented; scattered all over the world.... from our teenage days in the woods of MCC. We continue to grow older and wiser perhaps and bring up a new generation through our children and see them go through the phases we went...
Hope we will continue to keep in touch..
I wish you all a Happy and Prosperous New Year. A toast to 2011, May it bring many memorable events in all your lives.
Wishing you the very Best....
Sunita

Hey Sunitha good to see your blog on day one and it felt like Sachin hitting the first ball in the one day match for a six.... I am sure we all will take this cue and start posting. All the best to your home project and dont worry all will be well with the project and post the pics soon once ready.

Sunita, thanks for your wishes. All the best for 2011 - you've an interesting list of projects.
Yes, Sunita. Amos always comes up with wise/thought provoking comparisons - see Sachin's comparison in the comment. He is our 'blog Bacon'.
As ever.
Hi Suni,
Nice to see your blog. Thank you for your wishes. I meant to call you to see if you were affected by the floods. It is either fire or flood in SD eh?
Yes, the learning curve is painful, but I feel like I am achieving something - by learning and doing. I was getting a bit bored at the public library.
When do you plan to visit us in SK? We hope to be in California during our spring break sometime between February 20 - 27. Hope you can come there for a visit and we can go shopping again :) boy, that was fun.
thAT WAS A LOVELY POST, SUNITA. Where in kerala is the new house? I spent my Christmas vacation in Kerala. The kids are ok - though winter makes my son's eczema pretty bad (btw, Chennai is getting colder and colder each winter) and my daughter's amputated finger has been set almost right. Thank God for small mercies. The most interesting Chennai news is that we have had rains off and on since June - a la Kerala!
Trust 2011 is treating all of you well. Take care and keep blogging!
Hi Guys,
Thanks for all the wishes. Amos where do you come with such comparison's, but thanks for it. I blogged when I was watching the ball drop in New york in the comfort of my livingroom. Rajiv, Usha, Maha and Rosh thanks for all your wishes. I hope this year will be very exciting for all of us.
Rosh - What happened to your daughter? Its been a while since i went to your blog so i have missed out on the latest. Need to go back and read. I hope she is doing well and heals fast.I am constructing in Kayamkulam, Kerala at my dad's property where my dad's family home was. We are demolishing the family home that is very old and construting a new family home.
Sunita
Your daughter's finger was amputated Roshin? What happened? I hope she is feeling better now.
SM
Her right hand ring finger got caught in the door while playing with her brother and it got crushed and amputated from a lil above the top joint. A reconstructive surgery was done at Apollo, and it looks somewhat ok - though shorter and a bit different from the original. Happened in October.
Oh that sounds painful. Glad to know she is okay and that they were able to reconstruct it (although not perfect).
