Inflation In Dubai

Inflation is hitting sky high in Dubai with rentals and essentials going up by every day. Soms sample costs are given below.

Carrot 1 Kg DHS5(USD1.37)
Beans 1 KG DHS6.50 (USD1.77)
Onions 1 KG DHS4.50(USD1.22)
Cauliflower 1 KG DHS6.50 (USD1.77)
Rental (1BHK) DHS60000.00 (USD16400) per annum(Approx)

The increase in costs has made it difficult to live and work in Dubai as the salaries do not go up equally to compensate the rise in costs. Recently the Govt has advised a 70% hike in salaries for Govt employees. We just hope that the Private sector will follow suit......AM

hi, here too the prices are going up. carrots and other vegs is higher than what u said.
here they cut some salary of Ford workers.. while they were laying off people.!where as many people have lost work .. as another car co is laying off.having a Job is a blessings.i suppose we have to be thankful and learn to cut our expense accordingly.

I have heard how expensive dubai is and how people share a flat etc. Do u live inSharjah or Dubai?

We live in Dubai, but Sharjah too has equally become expensive...AM

Inflation is hitting every body at all corners of the world. We feel the pinch here too in San diego.
