Thanksgiving in the US

Thanksgiving is a big event in the US. There are sales early morning after Thanksgiving which means traffic jams. A lot of rush at stores where people wait for the stores to open.

On thursday, everyone enjoys turkey. We were invited by a family from our church although it was their family gathering. They said they adopted us. There was turkey, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry, corn, gravy, stuffing, small buns (rolls), jello, ice cream punch, fruit tray, veg tray, chicken wings, chips, murrukku, cakes, rice , fish curry, buttermilk, pachadi and many snack items - a big spread.

The younger two kids being sick were both on my lap. So was feeling worn out; one threw up. I just ate some rice; at least my hubby could enjoy the dinner.

When we came out to go home, we found it had snowed and the ice was on our car windshields.. Had to scrape those off and wait a few minutes for it to defrost with engine on! Winter is in full swing here.

With thanks and blessings for all our families and friends. God bless.
